The Rp 80 Public Transportation Fare in Jakarta is Valid for Two Days

Jakarta Provincial Government extends the validity period of special Rp 80 fare for public transportation. Previously, it was valid only for August 17. Now it has been extended for two days up to August 18, 2025.

This policy is part of the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Syafrin Liputo said the policy is taken to appreciate the residents, as well as encouraging public using public transportation.

"We've decided to extend for two days. We want residents of Jakarta and the surrounding areas to be able to enjoy the Independence Day celebration more freely, while also reducing the use of private vehicles," he said, Tuesday (8/12).

Apart from being a form of national celebration, this program is also part of the Jakarta Provincial Government's long-term campaign to increase the number of public transportation users.

"Jakarta hopes that the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Indonesian Independence Day will be a historic moment that is not only filled with the spirit of nationalism, but also demonstrates a shared commitment to inclusive and sustainable public transportation," he added.

As for information, this special fare is valid for Transjakarta services (BRT, Non-BRT, and Transjabodetabek), MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta for Velodrome-Pegangsaan Dua route.

All transportation users can enjoy this fare, with payment methods using electronic money such as Bank Mandiri E-Money, BCA Flazz, BNI Tap Cash, BRI Brizzi, JakLingko Card, KMT, JakCard, or through the JakLingko and MyMRTJ applications.

Meanwhile, public transportation services that have been operating at zero rupiah fares since the beginning, such as Mikrotrans, Transjakarta Cares, and other social services, will continue to operate as usual without any changes to fares.
